Stepping Stones House
is a substance-free housing choice available for students attending Washington State University in Pullman.
Stepping Stones Recovery House is located on historic College Hill, which is walking distance to Washington State University and to downtown Pullman. Surrounded by the beautiful Palouse landscape, the program provides a clean and sober opportunity for growth toward successful, independent living.
Stepping Stones Recovery House is a supervised substance-free living environment. The house is overseen by an advisor from the Clinical Psychology graduate programs at Washington State University. The house is a single family home providing a unique living environment including three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, galley kitchen, and community room.

Students apply to live in the Stepping Stones Recovery House voluntarily. They cannot be required to do so by their parents or the court system. Students in the recovery house develop a recovery plan with an addictions specialist on staff at WSU Counseling Services. A typical recovery plan may include individual and group counseling, along with regular attendance at either Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous.

Why Stepping Stones Recovery House?
One of the most difficult transitions in early recovery is the change from alcohol/drug using friends to non-using friends. This transition can be a lonely, high-risk time. The Stepping Stones House provides a safe community in which residents can begin to build sober, healthy relationships, while at the same time, being involved in the mainstream of university life.
Admission Requirements:
A minimum of 30 days of continuous sobriety
Successful completion of an inpatient or intensive outpatient treatment program
Maintain full-time student status at Washington State University
Be motivated to maintain recovery
Be willing to follow all house rules and recovery program requirements
Complete admission interview with addictions specialist on staff at WSU Counseling Services
A $450 monthly house fee includes:
