Party Safe While Abroad

Part of being involved in Global Learning Education Abroad is about taking risks. Some students choose Education Abroad because they want to take cultural, social, emotional, intellectual, and physical risks. Appropriately, students want to broaden their thinking and level of experience. Developmentally, this can be very beneficial; however the cost can outweigh the benefit of the experience, especially if high risk substance use and sexual behavior is involved. It is important to acknowledge and balance both of these ideas.

The SCEA program and the information provided on the this website work to encourage healthy learning and development in a safe environment. The pre-departure orientation training and safety precautions are not meant to infringe upon the overseas study experience. They are meant to enhance it.
