Alcohol & Drug Counseling, Assessment and Prevention Services

The e-CHUG, an online alcohol survey with personalized feedback, is required of all new incoming students and transfer students entering WSU Pullman spring 2017 semester who are under the age of 21 as of 1/1/17.

You must submit electronic verification of completion in order to meet the requirement. Failure to complete the survey and/or submit electronic proof of completion will result in a registration hold placed on your student account. The only way to have the hold removed is to fulfill the requirement.

What is the Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO (e-CHUG)?

The Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO is an interactive web survey that allows college and university students to enter information about their drinking patterns and receive feedback about their use of alcohol. The assessment takes about 15 – 20 minutes to complete, is self-guided, and requires no face-to-face contact time with a counselor or administrator.

When you access the Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO, you are prompted to enter information about yourself. In addition to demographic information, it will ask you to enter information about your drinking habits, family history, and to complete the World Health Organization’s AUDIT.

After all information has been entered, you will submit the form. The information you entered is then validated and processed. The Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO calculates a number of variables and compares your responses to national and local college norms. Then, your personalized feedback is displayed in an easy-to-read format.

Why is the e-CHUG required?

How do I submit the required proof of completion?

To fulfill the e-CHUG requirement you need to submit Electronic Verification of Completion (EVC). If you do not submit EVC there is no method to check that you completed the program, your requirement will not be met and you will receive a hold on your student account.
Note: The EVC submittal does not transmit students’ responses to the Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO questions nor their confidential alcohol use profile. The EVC only verifies that a student completed the program.

Steps to submit EVC:

  1. You will be prompted to begin EVC on the “Resources” tab of your feedback (the last page). You may begin EVC only after completing the assessment fully, and reviewing all pages of your personalized feedback.
  2. Select “Verify Completion of your eCHECKUP TO GO”. Provide the required information: full name, WSU ID number, WSU email, and select ADCAPS to send the verification to.
  3. Consent to complete the verification. Once you submit, the screen will say “Verification Complete”.
